Heading down the street, nerves began to bundle in his gut. The feelings of nervousness he sometimes gained in battle was nothing compared to the feeling that plagued him at this very moment. And it wasn't a battle he was headed to, no it most certainly was not, instead, he was headed to a womans house. This woman, this strange midgardian, was there for him when Jane had left him for another midgardian, a man she had deemed 'better suited for her'. This woman he had met on more then a few occasions before Jane had left. She worked in the medical department of Shield's Helicarrier. And more then a few times he had gone there due to Fury deciding it, even if Thor did have the stanima of a bull, he needed medical attention on certain wounds. At first, being seen by a female healer was insulting. But he eventually warmed up to it, seeing as women, especially his mother, had better knowledge of plants and nature then males did(minus his brother Loki). Eventually, he visited just for the heck of it, especially when she wanted to hear his stories, before comparing them to things she learned herself from 'the web' as she called it, as well as from books. And once he found out how much she knew about the midgardians who once war-shipped him as a god, he had questions of his own.
After Jane had left she kept him from hitting the bottles as if they were the heads of Jotunns, and kept him from becoming destructive. In fact, every time he had began to become depressed(in his own time as Fury wouldn't stand for it during missions) she would pick up a guitar as begin to come up with rhymes and songs about him and the other avengers. More then once he laughed, liking how, like the entertainers, the Bards of Asgard, she could come up with something on the spot. And if it wasn't from her singing, her listening to his stories always made him feel better, in fact, she had a few stories of her own of the historic midgardians he hadn't heard about, like 'the boy king' Tut, and the last egytpain ruler Cleopatra. Few others she spoke about too, like Ceaser. He couldn't remember which one he liked, but they were all nice to listen about.
Her name... her name was Julianna, but preferred to be called Juli, or Anna, and often stated how only her parents had the right to call her by her first name. Fury on the otherhand, never listened and called her by her full name, usually making her angry enough for a grudge. She had dark hair, which in the sun, turned a fire-y red. Naturally, no 'highlights' as a bunch of the midgardians asked her when they had met her. She also held dark brown eyes, and even though she held these dark features, she actually held some norse in her from her ancestors, as strange as it sounds.
Stepping up to the door of Julianna's apartment complex, he made sure the flowers he got for her were looking nice. He knew next to nothing about flowers, but he hoped the sunflowers he got were good enough, for she was the sun that lit the dark when he most needed it. And as soon as he knocked, the door swung open with the speed of a chihuahua running for the bathroom after holding it in all day long, and there, before him stood... a very distressed looking Julianna.
The braids that usually held her hair in place was askew, bags were under her eyes and in short, she looked like Loki magically gave her a bad day. Which may be the case but this time, it wasn't. There was, what looked like, a three year old clone of Julianna, male by the looks of it, and just sitting ten feet behind her and looking at Thor with a glare. Needless to say he felt really uncomfortable.
"Thor? What are you doing here?" he heard her ask, a surprised(pleasantly surprised) look on her tired face. She never looked this tired even after a battle! "I umm... came to bring you these, and ask you if you wished to accompany me to one of man of irons festivals." he said, glancing at the boy who stood and walked over, looking all sad now as the little one wrapped his arms around one of Julianna's legs and squeezed tightly, "Mama, who is the scary man?" the little one asked, hiding behind her leg now.
The lad wore a pair of, can you guess it? Captain America footie-pajama's, and a ton of captain america toys, books, cards and anything at all, was strewn all over the floor of the living room. Captain America cartoons were also on the tv, and needless to say, the whole place was a mess.
She looked down at him, "Coul, this is Thor." she said, gesturing to Thor before looking at Thor, "Thor, this is my son, Coul." she said before Coul stuck his tongue out at Thor and tried to shut the door on him, "Coul no, you don't do that to guests." she said and hand Thor step inside while she picked up the kid and carried him into the living room. "And I am so sorry Thor, I cannot go to one of Tony's get together this time, I have Coul to care for." she stated, putting the kid on the couch and heading into the kitchen.
Thor only followed and gave a nod, "It is fine. I didn't know you had a son." he said, feeling saddened. The woman who had brightened his world after the last one ruined it for him, was married and he never knew it.
"Oh, he isn't mine... but at the same time he is." she started, cooking up a storm of pb&j sandwiches, causing Thor to blinked, "What do you mean." She looked over at him, "He is a clone, a copy of me that Fury made without permission. What he didn't warn me about, was he used some of Coulsons dna as well, argo the obsession with Cap." she stated, and, if she had the ears of a cat, the would have pressed against her head at the sound of something very breakable breaking.
She stormed out, not in anger but in panic before quickly picking up the kid and shoving him into Thor's arms. Thor gave a surprised look and the kid glared angrily at him as Julianna quickly cleaned the plate before she let out a curse word, causing a string of "OOOOOOOOOOOOOH! YOU SAID A BAD WORD MOMMY! I'M GONNA TELL FURRY!" before she grabbed her purse, "I am all out of garbage bags, please watch Coul till I come back thankyoubye!" she said the last bit quickly before running out with the speed of a warhorse.
In all his life Thor had never seen someone run from a child so very fast before, before looking at the child, who was still glaring at him, "Are you Captain America?" he asked, "No, I am Thor, god of thunder." of which the child responded with: "I hate you." and pulled his hair before wrestling out of Thor's arms.
Thor made not a noise as he set the three year old down and watched as he attempted to ignore Thor and just play with his Captain America merchandise.
-one hour later-
She was still not back and, by now, the tv shows had turned off and the kid was like a tornado. Running around house saying 'Whats this?' 'Whats that?' and 'I hate you! Go away!' before finally, after holding a kid in one hand by the back of his onesie like a briefcase, and cleaned the toys and everything with the other, he sat down with the kid and began to ask, "Why so upset?"
The boy, Coul, just glared at him, "I wanted to meet Captain America, your not captain america, all the men who try to date my mommy are not captain america, I hate you!" he said and stuck his tongue out at him.
"And why do you wish for Captain America to date your mother?" he asked. The boy suddenly beamed, "Because he's awesome! He nice, he's not a bully, and all my friends at preschool have daddies that are captains and generals and kernels!" he yelled out, "And I don't have a daddy at all, none of the kids wanna play with me, and they say my mommy isn't even my mommy! They say I am adopted! Nothing worse then being adopted!" he said before crossing his arms angrily.
After hearing this rant, he understood, to the best of his ability, that this child felt out of place within society, and because of what other kids were saying, most likely he now understood what Loki feels.
Finally he decided to start telling some stories, few of his adventures with Captain America, and to his surprise, after about fifteen stories or less, the boy began to ask questions about stories about Thor himself.
-one more hour later-
Finally getting the kid to sleep, he tucked the boy in as good as he could, on the couch and under a captain america blanket, before the door finally opened.
Julianna stepped inside, looking worse then she did when she first went out, "Fifteen places... didn't have childproof doorknobs... finally had to get tony to make me some... CAUSE THE FUCKING STORES THINK CHILDREN ARE DUMBASSES!" she shouted before Thor shushed her and pointed to Coul.
Her eyes widened, "H...how did... when did..." she suddenly looked at him, "I guess it's true that when the vikings left their children with the dogs at home, they asked you to babysit."
