She was different then the others. Always have been and always will be. As an eevee, unlike all the other eevees, she had a large white ball of fluff for a face, other then the color of her face she was as normal as every other eevee. But when it came to maturing enough to mate, her cream spotted face had her at a disadvantage. It was a mark on her breeding. Yes she came from a pure-blood eeveelution family, but rumors had spread due to the rare discolouration of her face. Even then, he couldn't find a flaw in her beauty.
Everyone had called him Dark then, because he preferred the light of the moon then to that of the sun, but even then, every time he saw her... she was his sun. He believed her unnatural face was lovely, unique, something only ignorant and pea-brained eevees would turn down. But... no matter how much he consoled her, just listening, he couldn't tell her how he felt.
He was a loner, and because the others refused to let her play with them, Dark, and his beautiful Shy became best of friends. That was the name he gave her in his mind, Shy, because she was just so timid. But it wasn't because she was shy that he couldn't tell her his feelings, no... It was because he was mute.
So many times he wanted to scream. So many times he wanted to tell her she was beautiful when a male turned her down. So many times he wanted to tell those males exactly what was in his head. So many times... he wanted to ask her to be his mate.
But that had been so long ago, and long ago she had been captured by a human.
He still felt sour at the thought, and since then had trained himself, beat many humans lacky pokemon, and eventually became an Umbreon. He still wondered through forests far from his home, hoping to find the one human who stole his love from him, and hoped with all his heart he was getting close.
By now she would have been force-evolved from all the battled he would force her into, and he often entertained what she may look like now.
Would she a graceful Vaporeon? With a dark spot on her face? Would she even still have the spot on her face?
Would she be a hot Flareon? With a yellow face? Would she even still have the spot on her face?
Would she be a sparker of hearts Jolteon? With a black face? Would she even still have the spot on her face?
Would she be a pretty Leafeon? With a dark green face? Would she even still have the spot on her face?
Would she be a lovely Glaceon? With a darker blue face? Would she even still have the spot on her face?
Would she be a Sylveon? He actually highly doubted it, she was always very mature... Would she even still have the spot on her face?
Would... would she be an Umbreon like him? No, he knew she wouldn't be an Umbreon. She was scared of the dark. Would she even still have the spot on her face?
Would she... be an Espeon? A graceful, delicate... heavenly... Espeon? Would the spot on her face be just a darker shade of pinkish-purple? More importantly... would she even still have the spot on her face?
That was what he went by, the spot, asking other pokemon and finding where she was headed or where she may be headed next. He was always one step behind, but each step got him closer, and more then once her trainer got sick and needed resting time.
At the moment, he was sitting in a tree, watching the moon and reminiscing. Three years since the day she had been taken from him, and three years since he got up and searched, still no luck of finding her, but knew he was close. So close he could smell the scent of her, the scent he thought he forgot a long time ago. It was still so beautiful, strong, he believed that, with all the memories, his mind was making him go crazy. But it wasn't until he heard a laugh that he opened his eyes and looked down at the human and his pokemon.
This human was male, older, about the same age of the human he was looking for. And at his heels, was the most beautiful Espeon Dark had ever laid eyes upon. Lithe, strong, shapely, just... heavenly... He shook his head to clear his thoughts and listened to what was going on, unknowing that he feet were already headed towards the female.
The trainer seemed to have named this Espeon, Emmy. And was currently laughing at the fact that, through all the male eeveelutions he introduced her to, she didn't like any of them. And while they both weren't looking, Dark found it. Her face... it was there! Very light but it was there! Her face was a little more purple then the rest of her! He had finally found her! His Shy!
Bounding up to her like a madpoke, he happily sat down right in front of her, his tail wagging ninty miles an hour and having a hard time keeping his butt planted firmly on the ground.
The Espeon tilted her head cutely to the side, And why might you be? she asked him telepathically. Telepathy! He almost jumped for joy! It's me, Dark! I evolved while looking for you! The Espeon tilted her head to the other side, padding over and circling him before looking into his eyes, "Dark? It's really you?" she asked, though for her human, all he heard was her name whispered to the Umbreon. He smiled and gave a nod, placing his head around her own and resting his face on the back of her neck, and when she did the same he was absolutely ecstatic! Shy? he started, breaking her animal-like hug before looking into her eyes, Your still so very beautiful, and I couldn't tell you before because... well... I'm mute... he continued, a sad look in his eyes, while his Espeon blushed. I have always loved you Shy, because, when other males called you ugly, I thought you were absolutely perfect, just the way you are.
She looked shocked, and he hoped he hadn't scared her away. But his mind was put to ease, when her nose touched his.
Her trainer pulled out an empty pokeball, "Looks like I got another pokemon, free of battle."
